Matt Chamberlain on Torin luona Cornwallissa levyttämässä pari viikkoa. Mattin sivuilla on muutama maininta asiasta ja kuvakin: http://www.mattchamberlain.com/. Toukokuun 11. päivä: "Tomorrow I'm off to Cornwall England to record with my red headed piano playing friend Mrs. Tori Amos."

Olisiko sitten kyseessä Hidden Treasures -tyyppinen levy DVD:lle?

Uuuu... mielenkiintoista Toivottavasti DVD:lle tulisi tosiaan myös jotain uutta matskua Milloin lienee sitten tuo itse live dvd tulee?? Vaikka livestä en niin hirveesti yleensä innostu niin tuota kyllä odottaa innolla koska kiertue oli aivan mahtava ja koska pääsin itsekin sitä katsomaan.. vaikka tuo dvd nyt ei euroopan matskua sisälläkään.

Afterglow:n foorumissa eräs fani kirjoittaa että Tori ja Matt todellakin ovat olleet studiossa äänittämässä demoja sitä Light Princess musikaalia varten.. hmm. Kuulemma Undented on sen vahvistanut. Itse en kyllä niiden sivulta löydä semmoista tietoa eli onko tämä kirjoittaja sitten semmoisessa asemassa että pystyy saamaan paremmin tietoa kun me tavalliset fanittajat Mutta.. Saa nyt nähdä mistä on kyse. Uusi levy olisi kyllä aivan mahtava juttu. Varsinkin ne kaikki improt mitkä Tori esitti kiertueella.. ne kun saisi ihan kunnon lauluina Ihmettelen vaan sitä että miten jollain teatterilla olisi varaa palkata Matt Chamberlain?? Matt on tämän päivän kuumimpia nimiä tolla alalla ja luulisi että myös kallis. Torikin varmaan tulee jo aika kalliiksi kyseiselle teatterille..heh..

Kyllä tuo on mainittu undentedissä, ja myös tuolla "Tori on jättänyt Epicin" -ketjussa. Torin manageri on itse vahvistanut tuon Billboard-artikkelissa: "He clarified that Chamberlain was with Amos in order to play on demo recordings for the musical she is writing for the British National Theater titled "The Light Princess.""

Rahakysymykseen en osaa vastata, mutta luin joltain foorumilta että Matt on työskennellyt myös tuntemattomampien bändien kanssa ja tietysti on vielä Torin hyvä ystävä. Ehkä Tori saa jotain alennusta .

Hmm, tarkoittaakohan tuo nyt sitten musikaaliin liittyvää levyä vai levyä joka ei mitenkään liity musikaaliin? Toisaalta kun on puhe kahdesta projektista, tulkitsisin sen tarkoittavan kahta erillistä projektia, eli levy ei liittyisi musikaaliin. Olisikin ihan kiva jos seuraavalla levyllä olisi pelkästään piano & jouset .

Uuuu.. piano,jouset ja rummut Itse tulkitsen tuon kans niin että kyseessä olisi 2 eri projektia. Aika näyttää.. seuraava levy voi olla hyvinkin erikoinen. Ja nyt kun Tori vasta pääsi taas vauhtiin ADP levyllä niin ei sitä tiedä mitä seuraava sisältää. Toivon että mukana olisi niistä improista tehtyjä biisejä. Ainakin se "He has a well you have an ocean" impro oli todella kaunis.. ja oli siellä moni muukin semmoinen joka kuulosti jo valmiilta laululta. Pidämpä pystyssä että näin tapahtuisi.

The Light Princess is a fairy tale by George MacDonald. It was published in 1864.

A king and queen, after some time, have a daughter. The king invites everyone to the christening, except his sister Princess Makemnoit, a spiteful and sour woman. She arrives without an invitation and curses the princess to have no gravity. Whenever the princess accidentally moves up in the air, she has to be brought down, and the wind is capable of carrying her off. As she grows, she never cries, and never can be brought to see the serious side of anything. The court philosophers, when consulted, are unable to propose any cure that the king and queen will suffer to be used.

She passionately loves swimming, and when she swims, she regains her gravity. This leads to the proposal that if she could be brought to cry, it might break the curse. But nothing can induce her to cry.

A prince from another country sets out to find a wife, but finds fault in every princess he finds. He had not intended to look at the light princess, but becoming lost in a forest, he finds the princess swimming. Thinking she is drowning, he "rescues" her, ending up with her in air, scolding him. He falls instantly in love and, at her demand, puts her back in the water, and goes swimming with her. Days pass, and the prince learns that her manner is changed between the water and the land, and he can not marry her as she is on land.

Princess Makemnoit, meanwhile, discovers that the princess loves the lake and sets out to dry it up. The water is drained from the lake, the springs are stopped up, and the rain ceases. Even babies no longer cry water.

As the lake dries up, they discover that the only way to stop it was to block up the hole the water is flowing from, and the only thing that will block it is a living man, who would die in the deed. The prince volunteers, on the condition that the princess keep him company while the lake fills.

The lake fills up. When the prince drowns, the princess drags his body from the lake to take it to her old nurse, who is a wise woman. They tend him through the night, and he wakes at dawn. The princess falls to the floor and cries.

After the princess masters the art of walking, she marries the prince. Princess Makemnoit's house is undermined by the waters, and falls in, drowning her. The light princess and her prince have many children, none of whom ever lose their gravity.

Huu... jännää! Eiköhän se lähiviikkona selviä! Toivotaan että Tori jaksais vetää paria projektia yhtä aikaa. Kuulostaa uuvuttavalta, mutta eiköhän T ole sellaiseen aika tottunut.. varmaan vähän addiktoitunutkin raskaaseen työntekoon.

NEW YORK (Billboard) - Tori Amos has ended her six-year tenure with Epic Records, calling on her fellow artists to "stop being dependent ... on any system that has become undependable."

The singer/songwriter, 44, released three albums on Epic, most recently 2007's "American Doll Posse," which hit No. 5 on the Billboard 200.

Before that, she was with Atlantic from 1992 until 2001, when she joined artists such as Rod Stewart, Poe and Collective Soul in leaving the label.

In a statement on her Web site, Amos said she looked forward to crossing into "the new unchartered Music Frontier," where the impossible will soon become possible.

"Artists need not fear structure, we just have to design and partner with expansive ideas," she said. "It is time for us as artists to stop being dependent, dependent on any system that has become undependable. Only then can we help to create a new system that propagates and secures independence for each creator."

Amos' next album, due in spring 2009, will be "a project of new music and visuals which is being started in the summer," Amos' manager John Witherspoon told Billboard.com.

Amos is also writing a musical for the British National Theater, "The Light Princess," and in July will unveil a graphic novel, "Comic Book Tattoo," based on her catalog.

"a project of new music and visuals".. tässäpä villi heitto siihen mitä tuo visuals voisi tarkoittaa..Katselin juuri Imogen Heap:n video blogia joissa hän on kertonut uuden levynsä tekemisestä ja soittanutkin pieniä pätkiä biiseistä. Voisiko Tori ehkä tehdä jotain samanlaista ??? Tuli vaan yhtäkkiä mieleen tuollainen koska viime kerrallahan Tori jo siirtyi noihin blogeihin joten tällä kertaa voisi olla vuorossa videoblogit?? Mitäs tähän sanotte??

Tämä viesti kävisi kyllä kolmeen ketjuun mutta pistän sen nyt tähän. Tässä haastattelu, jossa puhutaan pääasiassa tuosta Montreal-DVD:stä, mutta siinä on myös mielenkiintoinen pätkä ADP DVD:stä ja tulevasta projektista. Olisikohan tämä se, mitä Tori tarkoittaa tuolla "a project of new music and visuals", eli se tarkoittaisi sittenkin ADP-kiertueen DVD:tä.

As for the rumored DVD release chronicling Amos' 'American Doll Posse' tour, Amos says that the original concept of a concert DVD has since morphed into something much more involved. "Well, the idea is that we're creating a story," she says. "I don't know if you can call it a documentary, but we're creating a story of what happened on that road, with the touring and what happened afterwards. I'm scoring that right now."

Having split with Epic, Amos is financing recording sessions for her as-yet-untitled 10th studio album herself (again there’s a concept; each song will be tied to its own short film), but with 12 million album sales and a vast, famously loyal fan base behind her, the singer surely needn’t worry about this winter’s fuel bills?

A stint filming some of the silent movies that will accompany Amos’s new album is scheduled for two days after our interview.
